Modern White Oak Console Table

A contemporary console table with a stadium-shaped top, swooping curves, and smooth rounded-over edges. It was crafted from solid white oak and a bold black finish was chosen to accentuate the striking yet soft detail of the design. To achieve this, they used Precolor Easy "Intense Black" and Oil Plus 2C "Black". The sheen of this piece was enhanced using SheenPlus, bringing the matte surface up to a satin. 

This project was apart of PhilanthroMake, an event combining craftsmanship, camaraderie, and charity which took place October 18-19, 2023 at Austin School of Furniture. Rubio Monocoat, in partnership with Festool USA and Shaper Tools, put on this event where two teams of esteemed woodworkers completed pieces of furniture to benefit Aynimundo and the Katz-Moses Woodworkers with Disabilities Fund.
