This stuff worked so well I decided to use it for a second project. There are DYI applications out there that will do the same thing for woods containing a lot of tanin. But for woods that don't, this works great. I've decided to skip using the DYI and use the professional stuff for ease of use and consistency.
Overall - fantastic bc of my very helpful rep Dave H - had 100 questions & he had 100 answers. Pine is not the go to species for RM but we have produced several pine floors with Oil +2C - all customers are very happy. This time I made sample boards & used the Pre-Aging Authentic 5...per Dave's suggestion. At first I honestly was not thrilled - gave a dirty look BUT that was my fault - the boards were not cleaned & sanded & I was rushing & not paying attention. When I cleaned & sanded - properly prepped my surface...it was a VERY cool effect...brought out the grain lines - lending a vintage feel - for pine lovers - that antique reclaimed look. My customer is all over the place with her color choices so lots of samples - pre-aged all of them - sent Mahogany, Walnut & Chocolate...& mixes of the colors. I love how +2C mixes so easily & customers LOVE having a "signature" color. My pictures are not very good - terrible lighting but I ended up with exactly what I was going for - with very little trouble...and following the simple directions actually works. Do get the right applicators...shop rags or other fabrics no matter how nice do nothing but waste product. I did get inexpensive ones at Lowes & they were fine...for my samples...I will use RM products for the floor. I used a buffer attachment on my old B&Decker drill - Lowe's ~$8...again fine for the sample boards but the RM products for the flooring. Quality in - quality out :) Can't say enough about my rep Dave H...he really spent time with me so I could wrap my head around the options that would be better for pine. He sent the instruction links which really are helpful - it's so easy you start to doubt you are doing it right & the simple steps calm your fears :) THANK YOU DAVE H!
This product was very easy to use as a first time experience refurbishing my bedroom furniture. So easy to apply and the look is dramatic. I buffed it after it dried, to a lighter grey and topped it with superwhite. It's beautiful I love the unique look I created.
Very easy to use. Very uniform look.
