Project Information

Aynimundo

For several years now, Rubio Monocoat has worked with Aynimundo, an organization in Lima, Peru, that supports children and young people with disabilities on their path to a place in society: physiotherapy, education, psychological support, job opportunities. During our Ateliers and PhilanthroMake events, woodworkers from around the world come together to build furniture for Aynimundo, and many of the wood surfaces in their center are finished with Rubio Monocoat products. 

Aynimundo helps children and young people with disabilities to integrate into society, including their families and wider social contexts. The organization helps them by:

  • Breaking down social barriers
  • Participating in school activities
  • Assisting with employment opportunities
  • Educating teachers and the community about disabilities. 
  • Training and assisting them to function optimally with their developed talents
  • Making it possible to participate in economic life

In this way, discrimination and social exclusion, and therefore often poverty, are effectively tackled.

Aynimundo also builds safe places for young children in the most impoverished neighborhoods of southern Lima by introducing and implementing:

  • Organic and ecological solutions
  • Non-toxic and reusable materials like Rubio Monocoat

By doing this, Aynimundo presents a logical answer to the many environmental problems there.

Rubio Monocoat’s lively and trendy colors are especially welcome for children and adults in a big city like Lima. Aynimundo's facility features a bright, wood-clad exterior finished with Hybrid Wood Protector in various colors, as well as outdoor furniture made by creators during the 2024 Rubio Monocoat Atelier, finished with DuroGrit. Inside, the center, the wood floors, tongue-and-groove ceiling, railings, and architectural beams are finished with Oil Plus 2C!
