Precolor easy is not so easy. Extremely difficult to prevent blotches and overlap. Had to completely sand floors and start over. Love using Rubio but this product just requires more skills than I could find. About to make my second attempt so let’s hope this time it’s right.
Preston, I am sorry that the experience was not a good one with the Precolor Easy (PCE). PCE is a water-based stain and should be applied with all the considerations that come when applying a water-based stain. You mentioned a second attempt so I wanted to send over our application video just in case you hadn't seen it. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reply to this email and we would be happy to assist you.
I'm waiting for temps to increase a bit as I am doing the refinishing job in the garage. So nothing to report yet but I am anxious to get started on my butcher block counter top.
Very easy to apply, just like the oil, put in on rub it in, wipe it off and let dry, then you can apply the oil coat. Testing on samples of oak and hickory to come up with the right color scheme we were looking for. Tried a few precolors with a few different oils. We finally are going with white precolor with a black oil.
Great and easy to use
