This stuff is like Magic.
What can you say, one coat and done, does not streak or show overlay
Doing two halls, kitchen, dining room and large living room in established home required logistic work, however with one coat we could move faster. No VOC search is how I found Rubio and it is 100% better than the 3-4 coat polyurethane process that drove us from the house for 4 days due to fumes when we did our bedroom 5 years ago. Rubio gives a pleasing light almond scent for less than 16 hours and then even that is gone. Follow directions to the letter and you won’t go wrong. We did over 950 sq ft using two 1 ltr cans oil and two .3 ltr cans accelerant. That should have been enough to do 1000 sq ft. We in fact have more than half of the second set of cans left! I was skeptical that such small amounts could cover such large areas. It does better than they state. We did it by hand with cheap 4” bristle paintbrushes to spread it on and really spread it out against and then with the grain and drew it out beyond the area until it would spread no more. Waited 5 minutes and then wiped off excess with old tshirts until it felt dry. I mixed using a small jelly jar using 150 ml oil to 50 ml accelerant and that kept it fresh as we moved along. Don’t mix too much as it does become clumpy and starts to set in painting container after awhile. Stirring it up helps but just best not to mix too much. We walked on it in socks within 20 hours and carefully moved in furniture in 40 hours. No marks from either activity. After a bit more time it is without question hard, water resistant, pet nail proof and looking great.
I discovered the ease of Rubio application during a very large project and have been hooked ever since. The pigment selection is vast with over 55 colors to choose from, and that's just interior colors. Simply buff on, buff off and your done. A little goes a long way so the price is justifiable at around $.25 an ounce. Hard wax finish is pleasant to the touch and incredibly durable making your furniture pop as well as protecting all the hard work. Highly recommend!
